3rd SOMEX NIGERIA MINING AND QUARRY EXPO 2015 D

NIGERIA MINING & QUARRY EXPO 2015 3RD EDITION

26 – 28 NOVEMBER AT CALABAR INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION CENTRE (CICC) MURTALA MOHAMMED WAY, CALABAR CITY, CROSS RIVERS STATE, NIGERIA.

Dear Esteemed NMGS Members,

Nigeria is a country blessed with as many as 44 solid minerals of which only limestone and granite is presently mined at an industrial scale, basically for the production of cement and aggregates for our local construction industry.

The next mining phase in Nigeria will focus on iron, tin, lead and coal which are driven by the need to locally produce iron products for the construction sector and coal which is required in large quantity for the production of iron, power generation and export. Other industrial and high value minerals which are of high local and international demand will also see a very sharp increase in mining investments.

In line with this, Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS) is a major stakeholder in this 3rd SOMEX NIGERIA MINING QUARRY & CONSTRUCTION EXPO, with a common goal to develop the solid mineral sector in Nigeria, a major export earner, local employment provider and or major driver of the industrial/manufacturing sectors.

NIGERIA MINING & QUARRY EXPO 2015 3RD EDITION coming up from the 26TH to 28TH NOVEMBER has put together a 3 day developmental platform event for the solid mineral sector.

This events main objective is to provide a platform for mining skill training, current international standard mining information, value creation and to grow investments in the Nigerian mining sector through the development of sustainable partnerships and sector friendly financing, with a focus to generate employment, wealth creation, industrialisation and to increase the mining sectors contribution to Nigeria’s GDP
